Hi, I am Jay Tierney, the author and owner of Yogi-Berra. I want to welcome you to my blog and tell you a bit about myself. First of all, you should know that I have been playing and watching sports my whole life. Some of my earliest memories are of watching Sunday afternoon football with my family.
I was the third of four kids, all of us boys and all of us involved in sports. Our parents were athletic as well and always encouraged us to stay active, for which I am so grateful! While in high school, I played baseball each year and I did two years each of basketball and football. Yogi Berra was my hero so I focused my skills on trying to become him. Though I don’t have the same skills, I learned a lot and still love the guy!
Although I did not play college ball, I have continued to remain active. I shoot hoops, play racquetball and joined the softball team at work so I am in great shape still. I also like to keep up with the world of sports.
I met my wife in high school though we did not start dating until after graduation. She is also really active and helps me out sometimes with putting the blog together. She does some of the camera work and technical things while I am writing and gathering the information for the blog.
We are a great team and I am so lucky to have her in my life. She is a great wife and an amazing mother to our two little team members. I cherish our kids just as much as I do her and am truly blessed to have everything I do in my life. My family is healthy, happy and together. I can’t wait ’til the boys are old enough to get a real bat and glove for each of them.
Well, enough about me and my family. This is my blog about sports and the stuff happening in the world of sports. I hope you find it enjoyable and informative. Let me know what you think!
